TDCS supports residents fight against 170 houses in Coton Lane -  October 2015

One of the first actions of The Tamworth and District Civic Society after its re-launch was to write to Tamworth Borough Council on 9th October 2015 with regard to planning application number 0149/2015 (Persimmon Homes/Coton Lane/170 houses).

TDCS formally recorded our support for those residents wishing to see this application refused.  The TDCS Committee had discussed the application in some detail, and the residents’ concerns as registered on the Council's planning portal were viewed.  Whilst our Committee realised that it may be too late for TDCS to take part in any detailed objection with regard to the application, we wished TDCS's support for refusal to be officially noted.

We told the Council that if the outline application was approved, TDCS wished to engage more formally with the full application if and when it was submitted, and would be grateful to be consulted at that time. 

We were informed that our objection was noted.  However, the application was approved by the Planning Committee.
