David Biggs and John Harper represented TDCS at the funeral on 23rd March 2016 of former Tamworth Civic Society President Joyce Smith.

Joyce is remembered for getting the remaining pieces of the Hutton Fountain - that the Civic Society had publicly appealed for the return of since 1984 - placed as a feature in the garden of MacGregor Tythe, in the late 1990s. Coincidentally, the funeral took place on 14th March of Mrs. Vera Stocks of Wilnecote, who, with her late husband Bill, generously donated to the Civic Society appeal a large block of the Hutton Fountain that they found in the garden of their Watling Street home when they moved in. Our condolences to the families of both public-spirited ladies.
