TDCS members support Tamworth LitFest event 11th May 2016 

 

Several TDCS members spent an enjoyable evening in the Town Hall with Tamworth Literary Festival on 11th May 2016.  Tamworth resident and Loughborough University English lecturer, Dr. Sara Read, spoke engagingly about the issues and topics covered in her book 'Maids,Wives, Widows - Exploring Early Modern Women's Lives, 1540-1740'.  

 

TDCS Chairman Dr. David Biggs said:  "TDCS welcomes what Tamworth Literary Festival is doing to benefit our community, and we hope word spreads and people get behind Literary Festival events and make the most of them.  The talk tonight was full of humour and interest, and dispelled some assumptions about the lives of women in the past."
